What "vetted" actually means here.
A lot of directories use the word "vetted" without explaining it. Here is exactly what we check before a coach appears on Couples Resolve.
Recognised training
We require evidence of accredited training in couples or relationship therapy / coaching — for example through the BACP, UKCP, COSRT, Relate, the Gottman Institute, Imago, EFT, or an equivalent recognised body. We do not list life coaches without specific couples training.
Direct couples experience
We look for a meaningful track record working with couples specifically — not individuals who occasionally see partners. We ask for a minimum of two years of paid couples-coaching practice.
Identity & contact verification
We verify the coach's real name, business email, and either a working website or a recognisable practitioner profile (e.g. on a professional register).
Profile review
We read every bio in full. We check the language is honest, that promises aren't unrealistic (e.g. 'guaranteed' outcomes), and that scope is clear about what couples work involves.
Ongoing standards
If we receive substantiated complaints about safeguarding, professional conduct, or misleading information, we remove the listing. We re-review profiles annually.
What we don't do
- We're not a regulator. Listing here is not a clinical endorsement.
- We don't supervise sessions or guarantee outcomes — that's not how coaching works.
- We don't take referral fees or commissions, so coaches aren't ranked by what they pay us.
