What's the difference between a couples coach and a couples therapist?

Therapists are typically trained to treat clinical mental-health conditions and may take a more diagnostic, longer-term approach. Couples coaches focus on practical relationship skills — communication, conflict, intimacy, decision-making — usually over a shorter, goal-led arc. Many of our listed coaches hold therapy qualifications too; the distinction is less about title and more about how they work with you. If either partner has untreated trauma, addiction, or a mental-health crisis, we recommend therapy first.

Do we both have to attend?

Our coaches are UK-based but most offer online sessions over Zoom, so they regularly work with couples living abroad — whether you're British expats, in a long-distance relationship, or simply want access to UK-trained specialists. Prices are listed in GBP; your bank will handle the currency conversion automatically when you pay the coach. Just be mindful of time zones when arranging sessions — most coaches work UK evenings and weekends, which suits most of Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas comfortably.

How many sessions will we need?

Do you take commission or booking fees?

Couples pay nothing to us — ever. You contact the coach directly through the enquiry form and pay them directly for sessions. Coaches pay us a 15% commission on sessions that come from enquiries we send them, which is how we keep the directory free for couples and free to join for coaches.
